Advocating for business as the Dunedin City Council consults on its Draft Annual Plan.
While the range of concerns expressed by our business community are varied and can reflect individual circumstances, several common themes emerge.
These are challenges around funding, regulatory and compliance cost burdens, infrastructure requirements, accountability, capacity, and the increase in the range of issues within local government’s scope.
Our Draft Annual Plan submission highlights these, and challenges some of the Council’s plans around rates increases, changes to the one way system, the George Street upgrade and cycleways.
We also propose a number of areas for development, growth and collaboration in the city.
