Tourism Communities: Support, Recovery and Re-Set Plan

Tourism Support

The Tourism Communities: Support, Recovery and Re-set Plan

The Tourism Communities: Support, Recovery and Re-set Plan specifically targets five communities that have been acutely affected by COVID-19.

One of those communities is Queenstown Lakes. The funding will provide support for those communities and encourage the tourism sector’s transformation in the long-term.

Tourism Communities: Support, Recovery and Re-set Plan

Queenstown Lakes District Council holds the contract for the delivery of the Tourism Communities: Support, Recovery and Re-set Plan in the Queenstown Lakes District, and have contracted Otago Regional Business Partners to be the lead agency delivering the plan. Business South Inc. holds the Otago Regional Business Partners contract.

The plan includes three initiatives available to tourism businesses based within the Queenstown Lakes District Council rating area.

Applications for the Business Advisory Support and Advice Implementation Grant are now being accepted.

The Tourism Kick-start Fund is linked to the border re-opening, so the accelerated move to re-opening our border and removal of self-isolation for vaccinated travellers means it is timely to now open the fund. Applications for the Kick-start Fund are now open. Businesses can now start preparing their applications, and will need time to obtain verified financial records that show their pre-COVID income.
