Business South has been formed by the merger of two outstanding legacy organisations in the south – the Otago Chamber of Commerce (founded in 1861) and the Otago Southland Employers’ Association (founded in 1890).

Business South combines all the benefits of a fresh new organisation – energy, dynamism and opportunity – with the proven history of nearly 300 years’ worth of business support, expertise and representation here in the south.

This is a formidable combination – and one that allows us to provide enhanced benefits to our members, stakeholders and communities now and into the future.

The Business South region stretches from the southern banks of the Waitaki River all the way to Rakiura/Stewart Island, representing some of the best and brightest business this country has to offer.
